Well, another day on the lake, since the river is still less than desirable for kayak fishing. That’s okay though, since Shawn Evans and I got on a few nice largemouth bass once again today.
You never know how the day will end up, if you catch a fish on your first cast… Well, this morning I landed my largest of the day on my second cast. Does that count the same? Well, kind of…
Toast’s 2nd cast bass!
The morning bite was in full swing when I launched. The bass were active and biting topwater. I was working a 7″ PowerTeam Tickler across the tops of weeds and along the surface, along the edge of the shoreline and structure. I ended up with two quality bass and a dink bass. Then the bite totally turned off as the sun came up above the treeline and broke through the clouds. Well, that’s summertime fishing…
For a bass just under 16 inches, this one had a huge head!
As my dad always said, “Your eyes are bigger than your stomach!”
One hanging out on the edge of the shoreline.
